FIRST OF ALL. 1.Poison was never a tranny freak. 2.the one who had the brilliant idea (sarcasm) in Crapcom to turn this awesome sexy FEMALE into a travesty by the time SSFIV came out should be executed. 3.In ALL Final Fight games is established that she AND Roxy were BOTH female.
now please stop your bitching, and to the artist...as a drawer myself, I must say that I'm in awe with your art. KUDOS to you.
Poison(originally from Final Fight) is originally a She. First created as a she. Because America complained back then about girls getting beat up by guys in games and movies, the creator had to change Poison into a guy, so they decided transsexual, Americans still complained, so they even tried turning the character into a full guy. Then they changed Poison back.
Not quite... The developers at Capcom were mindful of the misandry of Nintendo of America at the time - and banked on them also being transphobic during the development phase of the game, making Poison and Roxy into newhalves (as the Japanese call transwomen in a literal translation) in an attempt to skirt bigotry with more bigotry. It didn't work, and the SNES version had unmemorable male thugs instead.
The legacy lives on, though. And in a world where people shoot fireballs from their hands, are transwomen that strange?
unless you can find me a website saying Poison and Roxy were originally created as transgender, I will go with this website
"Poison's first appearance in Final Fight featured her and a palette swap character named Roxy as recurring minor enemies for the player to fight. Named after the band by an unnamed female employee at Capcom, she was designed by Akira Yasuda to contrast against the bigger characters in the game and move about randomly. The characters were originally planned to be normal females, but were changed to transsexual females due to the suggestion that "hitting women was considered rude" in America and the concern that feminist groups would sue....."

My name is skillustrate. But you must now refer to me as The Skillustrious Prince Kasanova I & III [I'm my own grandpa]. I've decided, since last night, that I'd wake up today and be royalty. Why? Just because I've felt like being royalty my whole life. So anyone who does not address me as such is an ignoramus of the royalphobic sort, like 49.9% [randomly generated statistic, but it's factual because I'm stately and I say so] of the less fortunate population seems to be. Now bow down and kiss my pinky ring in acceptance and adoration for my new-found, self-proclaimed elevated status, you less-than-grandiose individual. Lest you automatically segregate yourself --by default-- from the competent and aware, into the company of the asinine and insensibly moronic.
>>~TheSwedishElf >like 95% of the fighting game community seems to be
And don't you mean like 95% of society seems to be? Trying to make the FGC look isolated regarding their acceptance of trannies is lulzy. It's like saying 1/2 of a gallon of whole milk is white, while trying to imply that the other half isn't; like trying to imply ALL whole milk isn't.
Now let me be clear here; I am NOT saying that the FGC isn't welcoming of artificial females. That's your implication. I'm merely going along with it to form a point. You got a vendetta against the FGC? Awesome, pick a number. The line's around the block. But don't let it be for something that isn't specific to the FGC - because that in itself would be bigotry. And not the kind where I 'force' the bigotry status on you either; it's the kind where you knowingly wear it proudly.
Now that's enough talk out of you. Any further retort will be taken as uncultured insubordination, fueled by royalphobic intent. Which will then label you as one of the collective insolent. By default.
[srsly, do you see how ridiculous that is? it's kinda fun, though; forcing people to adhere to you if they don't wanna be seen as prejudice/intolerant]
From now on, any married woman with children who refuses to fellate me is gay
